The Jewels of the Tower of London and Who Wore Them
The Tower of London represents the power of the English monarchy. Built by William the Conqueror, the Tower of London’s main purpose is to house the jewels of the British Crown, where they have been kept since the 13th century (when under the rule of King Henry III). The Jewels of the Tower of London are also known as the Crown Jewels. They are housed in the specially made Jewel House at the Tower of London, where they are protected by armed guards around the clock. These prized objects have been on display for the public’s enjoyment since 1669, and to this date more than 30 million from all over the world have come to enjoy their beauty.
Jewels of the Tower of London
The Jewels of the Tower of London are part of the Royal Collection. More commonly called the Crown Jewels, a total of 23,578 gemstones make up the entire collection, which is a perfect representation of the British Monarchy. The Crown Jewels are considered to be a large part of the British history and culture, and signify deeply religious periods of time past.

The Crown Jewels collection includes many unset stones, including some of the world’s most extraordinary diamonds. Other historical items that are being stored in the Tower of London include robes, swords, rings, staffs, trumpets, coronation spoon, spurs, plates and many more ceremonial objects that were all one used by the Royals.
